Ever feel like everything is pointless? Meaningless? Ever get overwhelmed and wonder why you’re even trying?

Seriously, though…

We work hard, life moves fast, we forget things, we achieve things, and at the end of the day when we lay in bed and shut our eyes, what lasts?

What’s here today is gone tomorrow.  Our first job, our first car, our spring garden, maybe even our first love.

Why does anything actually matter?  Stay with us here.

You could even argue enjoyment doesn’t matter.  Because even enjoyment can be meaningless, like chasing the wind.  One of the wisest men to set foot on the planet made that observation… his name was King Solomon.

But… in all seriousness, it points us to a bigger question. What is meaningful?  What is the point of all this?

Heck no – we are definitely not answering that question in one blog post. But we are saying it’s why we are starting this blog.

There are things about your life and ours that will outlast us.  There are things that enrich our lives.  There are things that are valuable and make life worth living.

We just need to find them.

We’re starting this blog because we believe that by exploring meaning in every day, we enjoy life more.

And we think that’s true for us all.  Including you.

We have both recently broken the ice on our 30’s and are pursuing growth, health and meaning in our daily lives.

  • Want strong, healthy relationships with the people in your life?  Us too.
  • Want a relationship with God that inspires you instead of makes you feel guilty? So do we.
  • Want to create a welcoming home? Be responsible with what you have? Make the world around you a better place?  Same with us.

We haven’t got any of those things fully figured out, but we’re working at it. And learning. And growing. If you’ve read this far, you probably are too.

This blog is an effort to open up our lives by sharing what we’re learning, struggling with and growing from in every day.  We welcome perspectives that are new or different from ours, and hope it leads to great conversations.

From brewing coffee to exploring faith – we will explore and share what makes every day rich, meaningful and worth living.  

While our lives are deeply rooted in the love of God and the hope of Jesus, you might not find yourself in the same place.  And that’s ok!  We hope you’ll bring a spiritual openness or curiosity that enriches the conversation for both you and us!

One of the first followers of Jesus encourages us to do this;

Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.
Philippians 4:8 

This is exactly what we’re going to do.

United & Untied will be simple. It’ll be helpful. And… hopefully… it’ll be fun!

    I have learned to be thankful for each day and always find something to be grateful for. It could be a beautiful sunrise, the start of a brand new day, or the hearty laugh of a child. Each one brings me joy.
    I am new to scripture but not new to Faith and believe God shows us the way, we just have to be open to see it, feel it and pass it on to others.
